If you arrive early or want to spend some time on the coast after the conference, a couple of suggestions:

The German Emmigration Museum is right next to Klimahaus and highly recommended.

The German Maritime Museum is on the other side of Klimahaus, and while it is undergoing a full renovation and the majority of the exhibition area is not accessible, a visit may be worthwhile. The ships in the Museum Harbour are unaffected by the ongoing renovation and can be visited on independent (and rather cheap) tickets.

You also don't have to travel far to visit the Wadden Sea National Park, and if you have not yet done so, a guided tour walking on the ground of the North Sea is a great experience!

A visit to the actual port of Bremerhavn, one of the world's largest vehicle handling ports, may also be of interest. It can be done independently (e.g., renting a bike and explore - in that case, don't miss this view) or in bus or boat tours that are offered in the surroundings of Klimahaus.
